Product Description
Restoring beauty and class The new Glareshield is designed to replace the old ugly covering normally found on the fascia above the instrument panel. It is made of temperature stable Lexan, padded with a FAA approved soundproofing foam and covered with a special leather grain like non-glare vinyl. The eyebrow that extends three inches over the instrument panel is one inch thick and double stitched for durability and beauty. Unlike glareshields that are made of aluminum or fiberglass, the Glareshield eyebrow will flex, should it be inadvertently struck, providing an element of additional safety. The new Glareshield design improves forward visibility over the existing factory eyebrow. | |

Note: The ADS-PG001 and ADS-PG001L WILL NOT fit late model PA-28 aircraft that have a hump in the middle and a third defroster installed. (Typically PA28-201) |

ADS-PG-001L - Not for S/N’s 2843001 & UP!!!
MFR Model# ADS-PG001L., designed for late model PA-28 aircraft WILL NOT FIT Piper PA-28-181 Archer III models with serial numbers 2843001 & UP (late 2004 to present). The panel on these models have a higher clearance to accommodate PFD / MFD flight deck instrumentation. Therefore, the glareshield has a raised radius starting about three inches aft from the windshield, raising the top of the glareshield about two inches higher across the top edge of the panel. The higher height panel creates a pronounced radius at the left and right sides of the panel to the bottom of the windshield. This late model PA-28 glare shield (PG-001L) has a distance between the defroster holes of approximately 22 3/4 inches from center to center and “DID NOT” have the plastic manifold defroster application as described in the part description. Also, the distance between the defroster holes on S/N’s 2843001 & UP is 28 inches center to center, 1.5 inches from the glareshield’s edge. Trying to make the PG-001L glareshield fit, I had to add new defroster holes and cover-up the holes that are in the wrong position. Since the glareshield is not designed to fit the compound radiuses of the panel on S/N’s 2843001 & UP, the glareshield buckles and will not fit correctly even after trimming its edges. I ended up having to cut the brow off and reuse the original brow. Still, the remaining glareshield will not lay flat and buckles forward to aft, and near the left and right panel radiuses. In summary… the materials used on the PG-001L glareshield is very nice, but is not designed for Piper PA-28 late models as of 2004 to the present. My solution? Buy fire resistant (FAA approved) material and create my own glareshield, and I’ll use the material to wrap the original brow. I’ll also pursue getting a refund, but good luck with that!

PA28R-200 Glareshield
I purchased this glare shield to install during a windshield exchange. I am very disappointed with it. The overhang is flimsy and won't sit straight. The material used for its construction emits a strong plastic-chemical odor that is uncomfortable for passengers that are sensitive and susceptible to motion sickness. Recommend just refurbishing the original one and re-using it over this product.

Spruce up the Plane
Very easy to do while replacing front windshield.Directions are spot on,very little "wiggle" room but gentle blows with the heel of my hand and it went right in.Looks outstanding too.

Great Quality
It really is a great quality product. Do yourself a favor and read the directions first and plan on removing your front windows. The directions say it can be done without removal but for a quality job plan on it and a full day. It’s really not that difficult just takes a little time. Plan on using the plastic retainers to hold it in place. I wouldn’t trust an adhesive ior Velcro due to the fact that the natural shape is flat, not curved like the bottom subtrate.
